Start here when something feels wrong.

Help for the two listening rooms inside Audifact.

Set up your first combined session

  1. Choose a voice. Preview a narrator, then select it.
  2. Choose a Collection. Open the Authored Collections Library, review and download a Collection, then select it from Your Collections.
  3. Start a soundscape. Tap Choose a soundscape cartridge: open Kaleidophone, download or load a cartridge, and press Play.
  4. Bring in the words. Tap Return to play your Collection. Turn on Soundscape playback active, then tap Play Collection.

Audifact prepares passages as they are needed. There may be a short preparation pause; you do not need to render the whole Collection before listening.

If you hear no sound

Kaleidophone is silent

Confirm a cartridge is loaded and playback has started. Check the cartridge level, your iPhone volume and the audio output you are using. If needed, stop playback, eject the cartridge, load it again and press Play.

Collections is silent

Check that a voice and Collection are selected and playback is running. You may be between passages. Check the interval and voice level in Voice Playback Settings. In combined mode, make sure the cartridge is playing and Soundscape playback active is on.

The balance feels wrong

Adjust the cartridge level and Collection voice level until the words sit comfortably in the soundscape. Your preferred balance can differ by cartridge, voice, headphones and room.

If playback stops when the screen locks

Start playback in Audifact before locking the screen. If it stops unexpectedly, reopen the app and check its playback controls. Calls, output changes and system interruptions can affect playback. If the problem repeats, report your app build, iPhone model and iOS version.

Voices, cartridges and Collections

Do I need two apps?

No. Audifact contains Collections and Kaleidophone. Use the room control to move between them while listening continues.

Can I use either room on its own?

Yes. Play a cartridge in Kaleidophone without starting a Collection, or stop Collection playback and choose Collections only for speech without paired playback.

What works offline?

Downloaded cartridges, downloaded or personal Collections, and included voices work locally. Browsing the Authored Collections Library, discovering cartridges, downloading content and opening external web links need connectivity. Complete downloads before going offline.

Do I need to download or make a voice first?

The current build includes narrators. Preview one and select it; voice assets prepare locally on first use. Making a voice is optional. Recording a sample needs microphone permission. An imported sample may first need to download from your file provider.

What can I change in Voice Playback Settings?

Adjust the interval between spoken passages and the voice level. Speed adjustment is available for voices that support it. Your iPhone volume and the cartridge level remain separate controls.

Does listening generate new text or recordings?

Collection texts remain as authored. Audifact creates speech from those texts in your chosen voice. Cartridges vary how their included sound material plays; they do not create new source recordings.

How do I download a Collection?

Open Choose a Collection, then Authored Collections Library. Review a Collection, download it, and confirm Add Collection. It will appear under Your Collections.

Can I create and edit my own Collections?

Yes. Choose Create your own Collections to make a personal Collection, add and title short passages, and connect ideas. Use Edit this collection or explore the mind map to return to your work. Downloaded authored Collections remain read-only.

Can References be spoken?

References are reading material, separate from the passages used for voice playback.

Can I delete local content?

Use the item’s delete control in its library. Deleting a downloaded copy does not delete the author’s original. Personal Collections exist on your device; delete them only when you no longer need them.

Where can I get Audifact, and what does it cost?

Audifact is in development. See release information or contact us for the current status. Public availability and launch pricing will be announced when confirmed.

Report a problem

Tell us what you expected, what happened and whether it happened again. Include your app build, iPhone model and iOS version. If you installed an invited test build through TestFlight, its Send Beta Feedback option can include a screenshot and device details.

Please leave private Collection text and voice recordings out of feedback unless you intend to share them.
